How to replace 12V 150Ah lead acid battery

It sounds great, but is it hard to replace your old lead-acid battery with a deep cycle battery? Do I need to make any changes? You can find the answers here.

  • The size matches. Physical installation is usually a direct drop-in. Take out the old heavy lead-acid battery and put this much lighter new lithium battery in, and the size and space are usually no problem. The terminal is also a standard M8 interface, and your existing cables can be directly connected.
  • Most charging settings designed for lead-acid batteries cannot be directly used for lithium iron phosphate batteries because lithium iron phosphate batteries require CC/CV charging and the charging voltage is 14.2V ~ 14.6V.
  • If solar charging is required, a lithium battery type device is required in the controller (MPPT or PWM).
  • Once the charging system is figured out, wiring is simple. Make sure the positive terminal is connected to the positive terminal (usually the red wire) and the negative terminal is connected to the negative terminal (usually the black wire). Make sure the connection is secure and tighten the terminal screws.

FAQs for 12v 150ah lithium battery

The discharging time of a 12V 150Ah battery depends on the load power. If the power consumption of the refrigerator is 75W (about 6.25A), this battery can last about 24 hours.

For a 150Ah battery: 150Ah * 12V = 1800Wh.

Assume that you want to fully charge the battery within 5 hours. The required solar panel power: = 1800Wh / 5H = 360W.

Considering the inverter efficiency factor is 90%, 360W / 0.9 = 400W.

If you choose a 100W solar panel: then the number of solar panels required = 400W / 100W = 4.

If a 20A charger is used, the full charge time = 150Ah / 20A = 7.5H.
