Replacing your old lead-acid battery with this new lithium iron phosphate battery is a hassle-free process. In most cases, the replacement process is pretty simple and is similar to replacing a normal battery.

The most intuitive thing is that the new 12.8V 30Ah LFP battery has the same size as the old battery. Another thing is the type and location of the terminal. Our current one is the M5 connector.

Secondly, is the power large enough? Our 12V 30Ah lithium iron phosphate battery is more than enough for most applications, such as starting a motorcycle and powering equipment, and it even feels more powerful when starting.

What we recommend most is to use a charger designed specifically for lithium iron phosphate batteries instead of a lead-acid battery charger.

Most newer vehicles now have charging systems (generators and regulators) that are compatible with lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Installation process: When connecting a new battery, always connect the positive terminal (red, +) first, then the negative terminal (black, -). When removing an old battery, the order is exactly the opposite: first remove the negative terminal (black, -), then the positive terminal (red, +). Remember this order and the operation will be safe.

Charging & Maintaining 12V 30Ah LiFePO4 Battery

After replacing the 12.8V 30Ah LFP battery, daily charging and maintenance are actually much easier than lead-acid batteries. The following are the specific charging and maintenance steps:

The most important thing is the charger. Use a charger designed for lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries.

Generally speaking, we recommend a charging current of about 10A. It is not the faster the better, nor the slower the better.

It does not require trickle charging like lead-acid batteries. Lithium iron phosphate batteries have no memory effect and do not require floating charging to maintain their charge.

Try not to use or charge the device in extremely hot or cold environments for a long time.

This is one of the great attractions of lithium iron phosphate. You no longer need to regularly check and add distilled water like some lead-acid batteries.

Keep the battery case clean and do not allow dust and dirt to accumulate; check regularly to see if the terminals are still tight and not loose.

For long-term storage, it is recommended that you charge the battery to 50% to 80%, then remove or disconnect it from the device and place it in a cool, dry place.

It is highly not recommended and it is best not to use it. Because their charging methods (voltage, process) are completely different. Using a lead-acid charger may not fully charge the battery, seriously shorten the battery life, or even damage the battery or bring safety risks.

All batteries will be affected in low temperatures. However, lithium iron phosphate batteries usually perform better than lead acid batteries in winter, with less capacity loss and more stable voltage. However, do not charge the battery below 0°C.

Yes, the initial purchase price is indeed higher. But the key is the long-term value: LiFePO4 has a service life several times that of lead-acid, weighs only 1/3, has a higher actual usable capacity, and requires no maintenance at all. So, although the initial investment is large, in the long run (considering the number of replacements and the trouble saved), it is often more cost-effective and less troublesome.
