How to select 24v lifepo4 battery charger

When choosing to charge a 24V lithium iron phosphate battery, the following 3 points need to be considered.

1. Voltage compatibility
Charging voltage: The recommended charging voltage is approximately 28.8V to 29.2V.

2. Charging current
Rated current: It is recommended to use a charger with a rated ampere hour of 10-30%. For example, for a 25.6V 100Ah battery pack, it is best to use a charger with a current of 10-30A.

3. Safety features
It has overcharge, overdischarge, overheating, and short circuit protection. After being fully charged, it is best to have an automatic cut-off switch mechanism.

25.6V LiFePo4 batteries typically consist of 8 lifepo4 battery cell connected in series. Each LFP battery cell has a nominal voltage of 3.2V. As battery series boosts its voltage, the final voltage of 3.2 * 8=25.6V.

Fully charged voltage: 3.65*8=29.2V

Nominal voltage: 3.2*8=25.6V

Discharge cutoff voltage: 2.5*8=20.0V

There are mainly 2 stages for charging 25.6V LiFePo4 battery:

Constant current and constant voltage stage: 29.2V 0.5C or 0.2C constant current and constant voltage charging until the voltage reaches 29.2V.

Constant voltage stage: continue to charge at 29.2V, with the current getting smaller and smaller, until the end of 0.02C current.
