What is 2S Lipo Battery?

2S indicates the cell series number. Each cell has a nominal voltage of 3.7V and a fully charged voltage of 4.2V. Therefore, a 2S battery has a total voltage of 7.4V, a full voltage of 8.4V, and a discharge cut-off voltage of 6V.

Capacity is measured in mAh or Ah. If the battery pack consists only of cells connected in series, the battery capacity remains unchanged.

When two cells are connected, the positive terminal of the first cell is connected to the negative terminal of the second cell, forming a head-to-tail connection, so that the total voltage is added together. Learn further series and parallel information here.

What is mostly used 2s li-polymer battery connectors?

The most commonly used connector for 2S lithium polymer batteries is the XT60, followed by the T-Plug (Deans) and JST-XH (balance charging port).

XT60: Made of gold-plated copper, it supports 60A current, prevents reverse insertion, and has a moderate size. It is the standard interface for RC models, drones, and remote-controlled cars.

T-Plug: Durable and inexpensive, it supports 15-30A and is commonly found with medium-power 2S batteries.

JST-XH: Specifically designed for 2S balance charging (monitoring battery pack voltage), with a low current (≤3A).

2S is the smallest series-connected battery pack, but we still rigorously match the cells and weld the protection board to ensure you receive qualified batteries. Below are our simplified customization steps:

Matching: We select two cells with identical voltage, internal resistance difference <20mΩ, and capacity difference <5%.

Assembly: The negative terminal of the first cell is soldered to the positive and negative terminals of the second cell. The 7.4V protection board and balance wire are connected via nickel strips to the terminals.

Encapsulation: We generally use blue PVC insulation, measure the total voltage, and age the battery for at least 24 hours.
