Our 3.7V lithium polymer batteries commonly use LCO, NMC, and LMO as cathode materials, which determine the battery’s energy density, safety, and cycle life.
LCO, with the chemical formula LiCoO₂, has a layered structure, high energy density, and is expensive, making it suitable for small-capacity batteries (30mAh to 500mAh).
NMC consists of LiNi₂Mn₂Co₂O₂ (NMC111, NMC523, NMC622, NMC811), where Ni increases capacity, and Mn/Co improves stability and cost-effectiveness, making it suitable for medium-capacity batteries (500mAh to 2000mAh).
LMO, with the chemical formula LiMn₂O₄, has a spinel structure, is the safest, and is the cheapest, making it suitable for large-capacity batteries (2000mAh to 5000mAh).
