The following is a simplified description of our lithium polymer battery manufacturing process:
1. Mixing
Make a slurry of cathode (positive side) and anode (negative side) electrodes according to the scheme and recipe of the polymer battery model.
2. Coating
Paste is applied to a metal foil (aluminum for cathode, copper for anode). This creates the desired positive and negative plates
3. Cutting
Cut the dried electrode plates to the exact length and width required for the battery cell.
4. Winding
The cathode, anode and diaphragm are wound together. Forms the internal structure of the cell.
5. Injection of electrolyte
Inject electrolyte into the encapsulated cell to allow lithium ions to travel between the positive and negative plates.
6. Sealing & Formation
Encapsulate the cell with an aluminum-plastic film casing to prevent the electrolyte from being exposed. Activate the internal chemical material by charging and discharging.
7. Aging and Testing
Final test of capacity, voltage and overall performance through high and normal temperature aging tests.

FAQs for li-polymer batteries
The disadvantages of polymer batteries are as follows:
- They have poor high-temperature resistance, and there may be risks of swelling and thermal runaway in high-temperature environments.
- They have a shorter cycle life; typically, after about 400 cycles, the battery capacity declines rapidly, as seen in devices like iPhones.
- They are more costly because cobalt, a key resource, is scarce, making their production cost higher than that of lithium iron phosphate batteries.
- They are generally customized; almost every customer uses a different battery, which incurs additional production costs.
Lithium cobalt oxide batteries have a cycle life of over 500 cycles, ternary batteries are around 400 to 500 cycles, and lithium manganese oxide batteries may last about 300 cycles.
No problem, generally polymer batteries are equipped with a protection board that includes overcharge protection.
It is not recommended to leave lithium polymer batteries on the charger overnight. There is a risk of overheating. Once fully charged, it is advisable to disconnect the power.
The self-discharge rate of general polymer batteries is about 2mV per day. We recommend charging them every three months and charging to half capacity (3.7~3.9V).
- Charge correctly, try to keep charges and discharges shallow, and avoid overcharging and deep discharging.
- Use within the recommended operating temperature range, ideally between 10 and 45 degrees Celsius.
- Make sure to use a protection board to prevent overcharging, over-discharging, and short-circuiting.
Under normal usage conditions, lithium polymer batteries can be used for 2-3 years, mainly depending on the charge & discharge rate and usage temperature.
